Planning & Development Site Tree Surveys

Established trees can provide a development site with a sense of maturity that may take decades to replace; tree surveys identifying and protecting valuable trees within new developments can thus enhance the desirability and potential value of a new project.

Many Planning Authorities will expect to see the recommendations of BS 5837:2012 Trees in relation to design, demolition and construction - recommendations

included as part of a planning application. Independent Tree Surveys can provide full compliance with these recommendations which may include the following:

Complete record of all significant trees on a site detailing the attributes and value of each individual tree including; species, age class, crown spread, health and condition, recommended works, remaining contribution in years and the root protection areas.

Report based on the tree survey guiding the developer in maximising site potential, while safeguarding high quality trees and avoiding delays and conflict later in the planning process.

Detailed written report outlining the implications of a proposed development for the local tree population and landscape.

Written report and site drawings demonstrating to the planning authority how trees to be retained within development sites will be protected before, during and after the construction process.

Detailed schedule of recommended tree surgery works for trees retained on a development site; written to be readily followed by tree work contractors.
